Me Made May has quickly become one of my favorite traditions! It gives me a chance to celebrate handmade clothing while shining a light on so many talented indie designers.

I’m thankful to have a platform to uplift other people in this space, especially at a time where there are so many AI generated patterns that haven’t been tested, and often leave the sewist with an ill-fitting garment that they paid for in both time and money.

Me Made May has historically been a month long celebration on Instagram of our handmade wardrobes.

But to be honest, posting for 31 days straight is a big task that isn’t sustainable for most people. In fact, it can bring up a lot of bad feelings that I’ve experienced first hand.

The dress hack has been living rent free in my mind for months and I couldn’t have guessed that I’d love it as much as I do. There’s generous ease from the waist down, which means it ticks all the boxes of comfort and elegance.
